injection conversion
injection conversion
hello all im thinking of converting my 360 gle onto injection - will the manifolds just swop straight over? obvioulsly i will need the ecu - where is the best place to fit it? - also what sort of mpg (long run at 60mph) would i expect from it on carbs compared to injection?

Manifold will fit, but you need to block water circulation holes from head as injection manifold will not have this water circulation.
Then you will need to install one temp sensor to cylinder head, there should be place for this.
Throttle cable is different.
Fuel pump is needed too, also new fuel lines unless one likes to play with fire.
Some electric works needed too, grab injection model wire harness, makes life easier.
To go with megasquirt or stock ecu route is then something to decide, with megasquirt you get better fuel economy and it is simpler to install / diagnose in certain aspects, but some tuning is needed, also laptop is needed etc. I would choose megasquirt, but stock efi is perhaps better for install and forget type of use.

Certainly fuel tank doesn't need changing, one can easily take fuel to pump from hose that connects two tank sides and return fuel would then enter to tank from top.Gulbrandsen_Racing wrote:You would probably feel a difference if you switch from LE-Jetronic injection, and to MS.
But i don't know if you WANT to use MS. The costs aren't that different from a complete LE-Jet injection-system.
And you have to change your fuel-tank..!
It is also possible to use those original fuel hose connections, it did worked just fine and my fuel pump was in engine room as I find it safer to have very short pressurized fuel lines.
Ohh, thats an intresting bit of news Jani... I'll pm you about that in a few weeks!

well it was just a thought i'd put no serious thought in to it - but it looks like ill keep the carb itll be a hell of alot easier - i have the capability to do it just not the time! - i use it everyday!
it has recently developed a petrol leak in the engine bay from one of the braded fuel hoses - tad annoying! right next to the dip stick and the inlet manifold!
cheers all
