Is the engine still in the 240?
The 240 GLT engine runs K jet injection system (mechanical) and sufferes badly from air leaks. Cheack for air leaking past the injectors and check the inlet manfold gasket. The lumpy idle could also be down to a build up of oil on the air flow meter or just fuel mixure settings out.

You will need to keep the old injectors in the head when you swap it into the 360 to blank off the holes. Make sure you fit new injector seals and bucket seals or it WILL leak air

the engine is in the 360 and i have it on my glt injection, i have bloked off the old injector holes, i have been fiddleing with it today and i took a pipe of the top of the auto choke (i think thats what it is) to start it and it revs untill i put it back on and it will run on idle perfectley but wont rev, not sure why,

That is aux air valve, that will allow extra air pass when engine is cold.

If you floor it quickly does it get up revs ok? If problem is only at part throttle it could be that it gets air from somewhere between throttle butterfly and intake valve area, which could mess things up.

Could be that too, disconnecting it should reveal that too, if car runs better AFM disconnected then it is source of troubles :)
