All my 360's have had great engines revving for fun and much stronger than a pinto........
Opinions on engine conversions? (especially from owners)
The Volvo engines rock my boat, I'd love to have a B234F or similar on carbs in mine
. R-Sport developed a 2.3 litre DOHC 16v motor, based on the production B19 four cylinder block, 228 hp at 7,200 rpm on twin 48's.

Why not use the 260/760 V6? Twin turbo
That would keep the conversion in volvo style but be very different

One of the blokes in King Soton is supposed to have done a B28/280 300 a while back... never found out who though.

cos you'll probably tear your car in half LOL - Front end, wheels on floor. back end, roof on floor wheels in air. twisted.germ wrote:^^ then why not run a v8? adapters are available i believe.
sorry to the volvo faithfuls but i dont entirely trust this 360, you know.. they're supposed to be really strong cars but the 300 is clearly the odd one out. mines rusty, weak, and too heavy at the back (4 door) for the suspension..
basically, you gotta strip the lot, strenthen it up a LOT, then rebuild the whole lot with better suspension all round and then put it back together, if you want a good realiable car.
On the plus side, if you bought a 360, the engines are really torquey which is nice. just blow em for better revs and you're laughing.
Shame i aint got that sort of time or money

If you want to prove the point jack up one corner and open and close the door! Two door cars do tend to be more ridged.

yeah having slightly slagged off the 300 i have to say, its not really THAT bad, i just had a comedy image in my mind, of the car bent in half under the power of a silly engine..
the 4 door is lighter than my mates 3 door fezza, so its not all bad, eh? I still want a 3 door tho.
its like the car was designed to have 3 doors, and the weight of an extra two doenst do the back end any favours at all, especially as they went with leaf springs (yeah mine have gone soft too). its supposed to look slighty higher at the back than at the front, not scraping the rear valence on the floor like mine is.
to get back on point, redblock all the way! i love the torque, the sound, and the hardcore engine braking (which i guess is part and parcel of the torque?). PLUS it'll cost you a lot less to get hold of than any V8 or 6 pot or whatever. PLUS when bits go wrong, the 240 was pretty common and you can use a large number of their parts to fix your car! happy days
