Been meaning to post Mick, it's not just the B172 that's been affected by the damp in Bucks, the B200E has gradually been affected by it too. I mentioned to Andy how it was not running right the other morning, in 4th you could feel the power pulsating, a bit like hitting a nasty pothole on acceleration, the no power, woah power, then nothing then lerch, here we go! It was mis-firing until it warmed up.
Thurs morning it ran like a pig, started okish, thought I'd leave it running to defrost, but after about 10 seconds it started coughing and spluttering and nearly died, but caught it with some throttle, but then it got worse and worse. Gave up for five mins, deiced it with a scraper, aka RAC card. Restarted and set off at snails pace, as it warmed up things improved and within about 3 mins of driving things were fine. So, after talking to Andy, I'll be changing the distributor cap and leads, check the plugs and see how I go! Mick, you're not alone.
However over the last couple of days, I've noticed an intermittent noise, which I am sure if the fuel pump, (it was present Thurs when it was running rough, and also before when it was running ok, but it was cold and damp at the time) it's not the buzzing it makes when it's really hot in summer, but a lowish pitched hum.
