As a side note, carb could use new gaskets too, that can affect quite a bit to low throttle behaviour, so I would do good cleanup + new gaskets before adjusting mixtures.

(I suffer with O.C.D. which makes me obsessed with fine detail)

(Diagrams or photos are far more helpful to me when it comes to cars)
