as youve found, the 2 fuses in the aux box are foglights and fuel pump. the live for the pump goes straight from the fuse box to the pump. if the relay you mean is a black square 7 pin then its the fuel pump relay... im not sure where volvo actually mounted it in the factory as my glt had it ziptied to the AMMrobinm wrote:i followed the petrol pump wiring( on the GLT)back from the pump to the front of the car where it seems to connect to the lower of the two fuses in the aux fuse box, is this correct? If so I will just run a new wire from there direct to the fuel pump?
And what does the upper fuse in the aux fuse box cover?
And what does the small relay mounted just in front of the aux fuse box do, I can not seem to find any reference to it in the wiring diagrams I am looking at?

Re: carb to injection
the 7-pin relay is bolted to the AMM bracket, that's the main EFI relay as it switches both the fuel pump and injectors

foglight relay is indeed bolted/strapped near the small fusebox, and is a 4-pin relay

Re: carb to injection
Been a while since I have done anything to he 360, life and work gets in the way, but after unsuccessfully trying to convert the existing GL fuel tank to accept the GLT electric fuel pump, I have bitten the bullet and removed the GL tank and am putting the GLT tank in.
After much measuring and looking I decided that it was possible to remove the tank without removing the gearbox.
I unbolted the rear shackles, the panhard? rod on the RH side, the bottom nuts on the shocks, and the brake line bracket bolted to the chassis. I had already removed both 1/2 shafts and lowered the rear axle to the ground.
I then put a jack under the gearbox, removed the 2 6mm bolts from the bottom of the gear lever area and the pin holding the gear change rod to the gearbox, removed the cross-member, then lowered the jack.
The box came down about 12 inches, then the bell housing hit the cross member, so that was as far as it was going to go, but it gave me enough room to get the tank out.

Re: carb to injection
Fitted the GLT tank, replaced all the rubber fuel lines, put a gallon of fuel into it, feed 12v straight to the fuel pump fuse ( to prime the system without trying to actually start it). Disconnected my 12v feed and turned over with key and it fired pretty well straight up, the relief flooded over me, everything I had done had worked!!!!!

Good stuff, sounds a bit less troublesome than mine, but going now.
