I.E. Like the Big budgie said to the Little Budgie: 'cheep!'.

it cost me £120 as a favour for a favour as i work next door to JP Exhaust in and did some tyre swaps for one of the lads there for his track beast the retail price would be about £250 ish i'm currenlt waiting for them to need more tyre swaps when they have done some track days with said beast then i'm going to get a 4 branch made as well that will be £200 to me but £450 to retail public

Very intrested in tuning the 1.4 as it is the biggest engine that will fit in a daf. you can get a manifold to fit a daf 1.1 for a webber DCOE twin choke carb and i think the 1.4 head is the same.

bin on the rollers today at awesome gti the best figure was 61.14 bhp at the wheels with 74.85 ft/lb of torque and 71.37 bhp at the flywheel which was more than i expected and the whole group i went with we thought is would of been around 40bhp at the fly with the age etc so very impressed with it now just need to get the c1j home and built i bought today whilst there

The other B14 in the UK that I've heard that was Dyno'd was Huskyracers and I think that produced around 75bhp too, so it seems they don't really tend to lose power due to age of the engine. I reckon it's a bit of a myth as I've never had an older car perform any less than it should!

I have had some that have been down on power but they were mostly the ones without any service history, a good going over would regain some of the power but years of neglect took there tol.

If you are interested in a cam upgrade for your b14, get in touch with Geoff at Autosprint.
He reground my cam to fast road spec, and provided uprated valve springs for a package price of 135 GBP.
Also factor in that to make the most out of such a cam, uprating compression and maybe portmatching your manifold would greatly help at little cost. And then you'd have to get your carb rejetted, ideally.
I'm also stuck with the b14 engine, as it's the biggest engine that will easily go into my 55 without destroying the transmission.
@stefan, the manifold you're thinking of has a slightly different port shape for an early Cleon engine. It could be filed right though. Still, the 32DIR is not really the limiting factor for the current tune of the B14.
