Ahha this is why I joined this forum I hopefully have found the source (or rather sources of my petrol stinking car). It looked like it had leaked some fuel when I was getting the car ready for a roadworthy (MOT) but I could not find a leak. Now I really filled it up and petrol was dripping out.... Ahhhh run but don't drop the cigarettes
I am now fairly confident it is the two little breather hoses at the top centre of the tank which are cracked and leak when the tank is full.
Now I need to empty most of the fuel out before I start to tinker with it, a few more trips here and there - at least I have a 150 km round trip to work and back.
Hopefully next week all is good.

Hiya all I fitted the new little hoses with clamps and it should be much better now as the old hoses were so so very perished and cracked.
The sizes were 1/2" about 6" long and the other was about the same length and about 5mm or 3/16ths"

I hope it has fixed that leak.
I need to put the rest of it back together again and fill the tank up again.
I've got the alternator belts off and radiator hoses off just now and its to wet outside to do anymore on it just yet. Damn I'm going to have to clean the house now....
