getting rid of my back box + better carb
Hi I have a Volvo 360 2.0 I was thinking of getting rid of my back box and having just a pipe there instead but was unsure how loud that would make it don’t want it to loud jus sick of it falling down and its got a bit of a blow. I would all so like to fit a better carb but weber don’t do a direct replacement so was thinking a 34/36 would be a good size and just make an adapter plate to fit
Re: getting rid of my back box + better carb
Its not really loud without the backbox on my 2L injection, not sure if there would be a difference with carb. Its annoying but i've heard louder from 1.1 sax-slo's. Take it off and see, if you don't like it stick it back on. Why does it keep falling down? have you checked all 3 hanging rubbers?

It will be fine, the exhaust bends 90* at the end of the trans tunnel and then it is pointing straight at the sill. Cut/extend it there, before the next 90* (parallel with sill). As long as you have a centre box it will be quiet enough IMO. Just don't snap the downpipe. Then a 2.0 carb gets really loud lol.
What a laugh though! Like a cross between a lawnmower and a Nascar.
