Hi,

I'm waiting forour Swedish friends to come up with what's faults there are.
Then I can send info to my supplier to get it fixed from next batch.

How soon do you need?

Cheers

Not in a huge rush, I would much rather get a product that has been sorted properly than rush you and get an unsatisfactory product, just trying to keep up to date as I'm not on this forum all the time.

Hi! I'm the Swede no. 2 and just wanted to chime in and say that my diff that arrived in may 2014 also got 1.5 thread pitch. Haven't test fitted anything but I measured and took pictures.
Also I found some info in the parts catalog which may be good to someone, the bolts part numbers as well as bearings.

Does it mean that the 340 M45R diff has two different bolts?
As for the shorter bolt that looks like in FREJ's pictures... part no 3285756, I cannot find any info on it's pitch thread.
I will update when I've measured bolts as well.

Is it possible to locate M12x1.5 bolts or are we doomed? Unless something's oval I guess it's possible to make everything fit. But I cannot find a single place that sell bolts that looks suitable.

Can you tell me what length you need?
Do you need cap head or hex head?

They can be bought in internet like ebay very easy in UK.

30 mm length would be ok, measured today, but it should be partially threaded and I forgot to measure the distance where there should be no threads. I believe the ones on eBay isn't partially threaded if ordered M12 1.5 12.9 grade in only 30 mm length.

I think what you need to do is to measure non threaded length and over all length.
This way, you can cut them from the correct length non thread bolts. As long as you cut and dress them after, no issue there.

Hello.
I think we should look for a bolt with a head like this.
A bolt with cap head will be to high, especially if a 12.9 washer is used as well.

So hex head "with built-in washer" bolt. M12x1.5 with the right non threaded length.

Yes that type of bolt would be great. It was a lot more difficult than I thought to google specific bolts... maybe the best thing to do is like you seem to have been doing, namely, finding a bolt that's used in a car that uses M12, 1.5 pitch quality 12.9 and just hope they are longer than 30 mm.

Gonna be looking.

Also FREJ, I dropped the distancer into the crown wheel but some force was needed to push it so I didn't want it to get stuck. Just wondering in case yours fitted loosely enough to have it fall out if you held the crown wheel upside down?

The distancers' thickness looks good in your photos... Hope to be able to solve this so that I can run torsen diff this summer :360:

No association with these other than they were the first google for "M12x1.5 flange bolt" but they show 8.8 and 12.9 in 30 mm length as well as every 5 mm from there

Yes, but in the best of worlds it should be a partially threaded ribbed (serrated, same thing?) flange bolt, 12.9

Seems like people go crazy about securing these bolts when I googled other car builds.
Also, I read upon thread pitch and it said 1.25 were less likely to shake loose. So I will try to find perfect bolts and use STRONG thread lock :D

Just to help with terminology. The unthreaded section of a bolt would be the 'shank'.

so youre after a M12x1.5 30mm flange head high tensile (12.9 grade) bolt with a shank length of .....

getting closer to being able to give an engineering workshop something work with.

Even deeper into engineering language:

DIN 6921 (1.25, 1.5 and 1.75 thread pitch)
ISO 15072 (fine thread pitch 1.25 and 1.5)
NF E 25-504-1 (fine thread pitch 1.25 and 1.5)

Wonder if 10.9 quality is good enough?
