Hi,

Could anyone who has both 340/360 diffs confirm they are same?
As far as I know, they are same but I want to be sure rather than "I think so"!

Cheers
Atchi

Hi Peter,

Thank you for that.
So this mean if you want 1 driftking89, you can buy what I get made!
Peter is using 1 with over 300+ Bhp so far.

Hi,

There are 2 on order at the momeet for boys from here.
The manufcuturer's Lathe is dead and getting fixed as we speak this month. So there is slight delay for the delivery.

I will keep you informed.

Hi!
I just installed my LSD (bought it at along with Peter about a year ago but haven't had time to fit it yet); installation was pretty straight forward, but not quite bolt on...
kurres diff 007.JPG
Diff gear disc with markings for sanding/milling
First of all, the tolerances between the disc that forms the thrust bearing for the spiral gears of the diff and the crown wheel were slightly off. With a belt sander (might have worked with a good lathe and sharp tools), the outer diameter, the radius of the first edge, the height of the first flat part and radius of the second edge had to be adjusted slightly. Being hardened, it took a while to get everything to fit!
An important notice; if the disc is a tight fit, think twice before pressing it in since it is very difficult to get it out once pressed in if the fit has to be adjusted to make sure it sits flush with the surrounding area of the crown wheel. Peter made that mistake with one of his diffs, it took three 5mm drill bits and a lot of time to drill through from behind and press the disc out again!
kurres diff 009.JPG
Shortened crown wheel bolts
The next thing that needed adjustment was the length of the bolts for the crown wheel; they were all bottoming out in the threads. Another trip to the beltsander and that problem was gone...

All in all, fairly straight forward, but not quite bolt on...
I managed to reuse the old bearings which were in good order, all I had to replace were the seals and gaskets and one of the shims to get the bearing preload right (the backlash between crown wheel and pinion was OK, it is generally not changed when changing the diff).

I have sent 2 more LSDs.
I hope new owners will be letting us know how it goes.

Hello, now I have looked more closely at my Torsen that I received yesterday.

No problem with the disc fitment into the crown wheel, that Kurre86 showed higher up on this page.

Image
Disc fitment into crownwheel is good.

But I found other issues:

Image
Diff to big to fit into crown wheel.
Think I put the crown wheel into the lathe, instead of take a risk with the Torsen.

The drive flange doesn't fit into the gear with splines.. The hole seams/feels a little oval, Se images.
Maybe some hard work up 'n down with diamond paste could solve this?

Image
The gear does not go all the way on to the drive flange.

Image
Marks shows how the fitment is different around the hole. Oval?

And for the crown wheel bolts.. Kurre86 reported too long bolts. But I can't get them in at all!
My Torsen has M12x1,5 threaded holes for crown wheel but standard diff has M12x1,25?!
Suppose that this is a mistake from the making/threading of the Torsen. Or is there possibly M12x1,5 in some stock diffs?
