hello all, im new to the volvo 340 "scene" so to speak and was looking at buying an engine swapped 340, 1.4 - F7p and wanted to ask a question regarding emmisions and MOTs.
What are the emmision figures for a 1.4 340 DL
and what are the emmision figures on a 1.8 valver engine
so i can compare the two, as i am a bit worried about MOT failures incase the 1.8 engine doesnt meet the same emmisions as a 1.4. i talked to an MOT man at a volvo dealer and he said it will pass as long as the emission figures aren't higher than those listed for a 1.4 engine, the car should pass.
has anyone here had any trouble with engine swapped 340s before whe it comes to MOTs and emmissions?
thanks for the help in advance

1.8 should be very very efficient, perhaps even more so than the 1.4. It should be fine bud. Mine was about 80% lower than the original 1.7

Shouldn't make any odds.

MOT manual section 7.3
Vehicles fitted with a different engine: Test according to which is older, engine or vehicle. e.g. A 1995 car fitted with a 1991 engine (of whatever make), test to 1991 standards for emission purposes. Note: The onus is on the vehicle presenter to prove engine age.

Given the age of any 300, it should breeze through.
