Hi guys
Just a quick one. Is it possible to swap the drivetrain from a 360 to a 1.7 340?
Please excuse my lack of knowledge lol just starting out. I ask this as i have heard the 340 drivetrain is quite weak

Any info greatly appreciated :340:

It's been covered plenty of times! But as you're new; it's possible. John did it, but it's a real big pain in the arse and I wouldn't bother. And the drive trains won't match up to the engines.

Ah fair enough and thank you. I know its not not to every ones taste but looking at a 340 with welded diff and was looking for a way to reduce the risk of a broken prop. Any suggestions other than the obvious one of 'dont run a welded diff' would be appreciated

Align your engine with your gearbox correctly. Knackered engine mounts tend to make the back of the engine hang too low, causing weird strain on the props. Welded diffs add to this strain. But a good prop, like mine, should last long enough. I always kept a spare in the boot anyway.

Perfect just the response i was after. Do you have a contact or website of where i can get set of the engine mounts and decent prop as that would be a great help.
Thanks again sm4

If you're just going for Valver-torques (150lbft?), a well aligned stock setup should be ok. If you're going for something with more torque (say a redblock turbo), then a 360 drivetrain is the way forward.

cheers
