Starting the car was slow, too slow! I hope there will be an improvement with a new distributor cap and rotor...

It must be a lot better, or there is something else on...

Is it just me or does the 1.4 just eat dizzy caps......

You only need two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and
it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

Frankly IMO they all do. Its almost a service item every two years or so, check and replace dizzy cap and rotor. Cheap insurance for the trouble it causes if it goes all wrong.

I replace the spark plugs, leads, dustributor, etc... of my 1.4 in my Daf Coupé every year or at least every 5.000 - 10.000 km...

Agreed with Will, Kar's gets replaced every year, which is around 12000ish miles. Is the B200F like this??? I'm gonna need some help soon understanding how new stuff works, it needs a lil lbit of tlc (only looks like the basics) Also, can't find any recepts for the timing belt being done, is there any way to inspect, and can I do it myself??

If you can't find any record of the timing belt being done, just do it anyway. The original Volvo proper belt from a dealer cost less than 15 quid. The only difficult bit is getting the **##?? crank pulley off. Rather a tight nut, to say the least. Then its just a case of lining up the marks properly and off you go.

I change the oil in my 340 1.7 now 2.0 every 10,000 miles(on lpg oil does not get thinned by petrol) and change plugs leads cap and rotor every other oil change approx every 5 months for oil change.

only thing I ever check/change is sparks plugs.

just leaving the rest alone until it goes bad has never stranded me.

on the other hand, I do change the oil quite often..

Cheers Andy, I will get that done next week hopefully then. Is it in the Haynes? I don't have a Russek for this one yet, but I did get an Autodata with it that I havn't really looked through.
