low hanging exhaust? quick trick i just learnt

Post by valman » 21 Jun 2012 01:50 pm

inb4 slowpoke if its already a common issue solver.
anyway, most 340 exhaust hang a bit too low dont they? especially if your car has been lowered.
well i sorted mine out by swapping how the back box hangs on the bracket that screws into the car chassis! i have no pics atm but what i did was remove the rubber, and simply switched the brackets round - put the back box hanger into the top rubber hole, and the bracket that hangs from the body of the car into the bottom hole. this has lifted my exhaust up by a good 2", and you can use the brackets to interlock them in place (again this will be all clear once i upload a pic) but anyway. i hope this has given food for thought for those that have exhaust issues - mine had to be rehanged every few days
hope that made some sense, if not you will jsut have to wait for a picture haha :)

Would the rubber not just rotate and then the body hanger would be at the top? :P

my bad guys i've been well shit recently at doing things. basically where the bracket from the backbox goes to the hanger that screws to the body - flip em over and interlock in place. you might need to remove the bracket from the chassis put it into the bottom hole of the rubber and then kinda loop it under the backbox bracket? fuu no idea how to explain it really. i never got a picture of what i did but basically yeah, jsut flip it over, and use the brackets against themselves to keep it in place. easiest way is if you just jack up the car and have a look, then youll know exactly what i mean
