F7R Vs F7P inlet. is it exactly the same.

Post by DaveGuy46 » 10 Dec 2012 08:58 pm

Hi Guys,

Just need a quick answer as ill be ordering an R1 carb manifold soon from Bogg Brothers.

Are the F7R and F7P inlet designs exactly the same ? I think they are ?

I have bought a F7R with F7P head as far as i know, just dont want to order an F7P if it turns out to be an F7r and wont fit !! :340:

haha i remember trying the f7p inlet flange on the f7r now... they are different indeed, if i recall correctly the inlets on the megane are different, and are actually smaller than on the f7p cylinder head?

Inlets are indeed smaller.

A Williams F7R has the same bolt fixing as an F7P, but the ports are a snadge smaller if I remember correctly, with bigger valves further down the line that doesn't affect the above question.

Cheers Lads,

Im pretty sure its an f7p head i remember being told its an f7r megane block (bigger oil pump) and larger valve head.

I take there is no why of telling. I.e head casting numbers ?

The block will have an alloy tag on it if you follow the dipstick tube down to the block, if its
F7R 700 its a williams block
F7R 710 megane block end belt driven pump
F7R 714 megane block end chain driven pump ( no good as doesnt clear 340 sump)
