New Exhaust not fitting

Post by pettaw » 24 Dec 2012 10:35 am

Should have noticed this before I spent an hour trying to get if to fit but meh.....will be emailing Klarius this pic later. Where the tailpipe comes out of the box, it comes out too far and therefore catches on the leaf spring.

the 360 back boxes are different for a hatch and saloon, don't know the precise differences but that might be the reason it won't fit

Why not change it back to the early system without the silly set up on those late back boxes

Ahh you've missed the point guys.....Where the tailpipe exits the silencer, it runs alongside the box before moving to the tailpipe. This part is sticking too far out, the Walker one beside it runs in the correct position, tucked further in. The new one is therefore too wide to fit into the space and rubs either on the leaf spring or on the wheel well.

The saloon exhaust is only different at the exit pipe, it points out straight rather than angled downwards. The exit pipe is a seperate piece on the OE so the box is standard between hatch and saloon. The saloon and hatch are identical underneath, except the rear valance sits further away from the rear spring mounts.

I have 2 good condition original Volvo 360 exhausts if anyone is interested, various down pipes and so on. Obviously NI postage will be pricey, but maybe a carry over could be arranged.

I have this EXACT same problem, could it be that some are badly made, I tried an earlier backbox but it wouldnt fit, the bore of the earlier one was less than mine and some it wouldnt fit.
