Is there such a thing? And if so where is it

i believe its in the oil seperator thing, black box on the block under the intake manifold near the starter motor

I think the flame trap is the coiled foil thing in the pipe above the oil seperator (about 1" diameter), this is what blocks up and pops the rear head plug (unused disty hole). Later cars used a plastic item with holes in it instead, Volvo also supplied this as a replacement.
Just grab the large and small breather pipes where they go down in between the inlet manifold, there are attached to a sort of Y piece with the flame trap in it. The pipes should come off and the holder should easily pull off from the oil seperator.
