turbo 200e using B19 parts???

Am quite tempted to turbo my 360 as i have a spare TD04 lying around. looking a lowering the comp ratio to handle more than 5 pound. would B19A rod's fit the piston heads and B200E crank? can you even put B19 internal's into a B200 block? what would need to be changed/adapted for that to work?

Internals are not interchangable between the blocks as the big end and crank lining are different and also the crank it self, but you can use the B19 block with the B200 head. :-P B19 has stronger con rods also so it's a plus. B2x0 series has weaker 9mm con rods untill about year models 90/91, after that they switched to stronger 13mm rods again. B19 after year model 1980 has always the stronger "M-rods".

Are B21 and B23's not more common where you are? Pleanty of them in 240's

True! Take B21 or B23 if available, more displacement is always better. :-P Though B23A has a compression ratio of 10,3:1.

B21A has either 8,5:1 (on early models) or 9,1:1.

I was more or less looking not to change the block. i don't really have the tools or facilities to change the engine. would a strong b200e survive on say 5 pound boost?

Easily. Later B2x0 internals handle about ~400hp safely. :-P

Even the weaker con rods, which are most likely in all 300-series b200 engines, handle about ~250hp max.

It's all about the tuning. Fueling and ignition that is.

Even the pre -87 B200E in 300-series has also the lower 9:1 compression ratio, later ones has the higher 10:1. No problems boosting the 9:1 one even to 15psi if the fueling and ignition are sorted out properly, which means adjustable engine management.

Of course if you don't want to change the block and you would like to have something with less compression and stronger con rods than the B200E in 360, your best choice would be getting the pistons from B200ET or B200FT engine (can be found from 2 litre 740 turbos and 940 turbos), and con rods from any post -91 940. Con rods are interchangable between B200 and B230, but the lower compression pistons of course need to be from 2litre block

B200FT from a post -91 940 would be a good donor as it would probably have the stronger con rods also and suitable pistons. :-P

But with the con rods it's always best to check, because there's no strict year model limit, they installed the stronger con rods as early as -89 and especially some B200 variations have had the weaker conrods even post -90.. B230s post -90/91 are safe bet for stronger con rods.

Its an 86. its had a full 2.5 inch exhaust and i think granddad said something about the cam being a mild one too. lumpier than other 360's. is that unique or true of all GLT's?

also does anyone have any recommendations on computer system to run it?
if its a 9:1 b200e the 1 bar TD04 from an 850 turbo would be ok as is? or do i need to get a ten pound actuator?
