Stupid phone lost my last post.

Yes there are penta 2.5 engines, the blocks still have B230 on the castings just to confuse things. The 2.5 engines are AQ151 8 valve and AQ171 16valve.

It is possible to bore the 2.5 out to 2.8 but the bores can start suffering with bore flex. Volvo did make a R sport block that had thicker walls and was supplied as a 2.8 - if you search posts by Fuse there is some further info on the 2.8 engine.

Yes I'm bringing this back up again. I have discovered my 87 parts cars I've had run A cams. I now have 2 spare. Not sure what's in my project though.

I'm going B200E+T. Using 200FT running gear and ignition and hopefully con rods (might be 230 turbo 9mm i think).
What can would be best and how thick a metal HG should I get made? Not sure what can is in my project yet but my grandfather said it may be something a bit lumpier than normal. It runs a good deep drone exhaust note and doesn't sound like my other 360s

The Penta 2.5 crank (block still marked B230) can be bored to 2.8 but the bores end up on the thin side. The R sport block had thicker walls for the 2.8 version. The company that make the EVO 8 valve head do also do bottom ends in 2.8 version but you will need a deep pocket. A local rally Escort has one of those engine and he spent a lot of money buying that engine but he is very happy with it as it has lasted 10 times longer than any of his Ford engines and still going strong.

Yeah it's the 9mm rods from my ET with the B230FT pistons because the compresson of the FT is 8.7-1 so head gasket should be fine.

I will be getting you the flywheel in a few weeks, just hoping it will be sunny not snowy this time

I was told to stick with the A cam for a turbo as it pulls low down before the turbo kicks in and keeps going once the turbo has spooled up.

The lower the CR the more boost I can run. Or need to run lol. So depending on how short your rods are I may still keep mine or want FT ones. Inquired about steel HG yesterday. Guy said if I run a low comp my 8 pound target should be fine with a standard gasket. Anything around 10:1 I'd need to look at steel

People on turbobricks +t al lot of engines, and run 14 psi with 9.8 compression, so a b200e should be fine I think

Yeah if you fit the FT pistons you won't need a steel headgasket and can run plenty of boost
