Clutch pedal noise, is this dangerous?
Clutch pedal noise, is this dangerous?
http://youtu.be/Fvaw5r8fKqU
Doesn't give a clunk noise if you release the pedal smoothly but if you go full on full off it clunks both when pressing the pedal and releasing it...

Re: Clutch pedal noise, is this dangerous?
Did it do it before?
Sounds a bit rough. Why do you think it might be dangerous? Does it work?

Re: Clutch pedal noise, is this dangerous?
It's always sounded like that since I bought it, meaning 2 weeks
Yes it does work, just a bit worried that one day I'll hear a BANG! and it might be costly
Don't know much about cars really but I bought a fisheye lens for my smart phone so I will place it under the car and do the same thing.
Maybe I can catch something on film Just barely know what parts are called under the car but worth a test at least.

Have you tried adjusting the clutch? It looks like the pedal could be a tad high from the video (hard to tell). It should sit 160mm from top of the pedal to the floor. Adjustment via the clutch side of the cable.

Re: Clutch pedal noise, is this dangerous?
The 360 mechanicals are fairly bomb proof, but old cars can have strange problems.
Looking under the car won't tell you much, all you will see is the moving fork/cable end.
The clutch cover plate springs might be a bit corroded, it and the release bearing are the main moving parts with the engine off. Clutch failure is usually the cable breaks or the clutch wears out. I would tend not to worry unless you have some real symptoms.

Re: Clutch pedal noise, is this dangerous?
If you can feel the clunk coming through the pedal I would say that the bearing and diaphragm are on their way.
Re: Clutch pedal noise, is this dangerous?
It sounds OK really if it doesn't do it when you are gentle with it but it might be worth a look under the car - it might be something loose at the end of the cable or even just possibly the rubber gaitor is missing or the rubber cover on the 360 bell-housing, which will make it a tad noisier from the outside. Its sounds OK to me actually, though!!

Re: Clutch pedal noise, is this dangerous?
have you tried a bit of machine oil on the moving parts? it does sound like a rusted pin/hinge type creaking, its not the diaphgram if it makes the noise with the engine running.. I reckon the release fork pin/hinge assy is creaking
