what cam??
what cam??
hi
ive got a Volvo 360 glt, 2.0 b200, it has a full custom stainless manifold and exhaust on it already and I have a set of webber 45 dcoe carbs on a custom inlet to fit, im looking to get some mild head work done aswell. so im looking for any advice/reccomendations on what aftermarket cam would be best suited to this setup
read good reviews of the enems v15 cam but wondering if id be able to run anything slightly wilder? possibly k14 or k20?
or either of these from catcams?
http://www.catcams.co.uk/acatalog/7901410.pdf
http://www.catcams.co.uk/acatalog/7901411.pdf
car will be used mainly for fast road use
any suggestions welcome
thanks

Re: what cam??
Is that one of my manifolds on there?
I am just about to start stocking some cams as the question is becoming more common.
What head mods have you already made or are all of the internals still stock?

Couldn't tell you it was on the car when I bought it.
All the internals are still stock however was thinking about some mild porting polishing?

Re: what cam??
Would be good to see what the manifolds are that you have.
There are good gains to be had from headwork but get it wrong and you can make things a lot worse. Polishing only gives poor fuel consumption and no more power, all you want is a clean up.
Give me a call maybe if you want to discuss cam options

Re: what cam??
I'll get some photos of the manifolds at the weekend and let you see.
Tbh when it comes to head work I'm pretty clueless, I would be sending it off to a specialist to get done so any advice would be much appreciated.

Re: what cam??
Not necessarily the case dai. Polishing the inlet tract can often disturb the necessary turbulence of the air entering the engine resulting in a poorer mixture/running. Polishing the exhaust side is very rarely detrimental to performance/consumption and usually yields gains as combusted air/fuel is exhaust more easily
Porting is far more complicated and rather hit or miss without a flow bench

Re: what cam??
The manifolds are my ones. Your car is white with power steering iirc
Give me a call and let me know what your goals are power wise.
