HELP! twin carbs ignition

Post by cgray93 » 05 Dec 2013 07:57 pm

going to be converting my 360 to twin webbers but need advice on what to do about ignition. can I still use the renix? or is it possible to remove and replace with an aftermarket ignition system? eg omex megasquirt etc. and if so what exactly is involved

cheers

If this the only mod I don't think you will exceed the ignition map. Ignition more depends on cam, compression, octane.

I plan on fitting a cam in the future and possibly head work as and when I get money so ideally want something that would get the most out of those mods. hence why I figure an aftermarket mappable ignition system would be the best route?

so if you feel comfortable about megasquirt and the others mentioned, why not skip Webers and go for a ITB setup?

Full engine management is generally 3-4x the price of ign only

Already have the carbs and the manifold. Just trying to find out if I can run the standard ignition set up or if I'll need to change it.
