Quite a few people on here have done the f7p and f7r (1.8 and 2.0 16v) swaps either running fuel injection or bike carbs. There's a guy on here who has put a turbo on the original 1.4 and one who has a Lexus v8.

The energy is the successor to the C series found in the 1.4 340. It almost certainly has a different bellhousing pattern to the F series engine.
