Ignition 1.4 1991 340 - what have we got please

Hi, I attach two photos of the distributor cap, rotor and distributor. I'd like to buy replacements for the first two - just in case. I can't see any contact breakers so I am assuming a) I'm blind b) stupid c) both or d) it's electronic???? e) something else.

So help please, what have we got and where can I get replacements for a rainy day and what do I need to do in terms of any maintenance (lightly oil the shaft?).

I don't know what we would do without this forum so many thanks for all advice. Yes I have a Haynes but...this website and forum is far better.

Many thanks, Lee

Your Haynes manual will tell you the ignition is an electronic mapped ignition that uses a crank sensor. The computer is attached to the coil, refered to on here as a Renix unit.

I don't know where you buy replacements.

Hello again, yes, its completely pointless trying to find the contact breaker on that car ;-)

You won't have much trouble getting replacements from spares shops and eBay.

But only a Haynes can cure a wobbly table. :P

Did you not download all them lovely PDF Volvo manuals I pointed you in the direction of?

Cap & rotor available from any good motor factors.
