Ok so todays new saga was me trying to get the car started after a carb refresh and new ignition module.
Ive put plug lights on the spark plugs and there is no spark getting to the plugs.
Ive checked the rotor and dizzy cap, all looks good. So went round to check all the connections and came across the 2point connector on the ignition module and gave it a tug and it seems like the flywheel sensor has been loose for a long time, no sign of the two bolts holding it in place and the end of the sensor looks damaged.
The sensor has a curved bracket with two bolt holes on each side of the sensor. It drops in at the transmission end of the engine, directly under the distributor cap.
Has anyone got a picture of what it is supposed to look like?
It looks like the end of mine has been chewed up or broken off.

Re: B172K 1.7 Crankshaft Position Sensor
Thanks Dai, the ignition coil and diff casing gasket turned up earlier. Is there any sign of the missing bank transfer? I didn't check with the bank yet.
From what you are saying then mine must be broken. There was no metal part sticking out, in fact there was a bit of a hole where something should have been.
Hopefully it hasn't gone into the flywheel casing as i'm guessing thats bad news.

Yeah mines definitely missing the sensor bit on the end.
That could certainly explain a few things.
Thanks for your help guys!

The bank transfer has come through now. - will sort that with you
If that bit has dropped in it should not be a problem, it will probably end up falling out the bottom
