Another gear lever question.
Another gear lever question.
I've been trying to work out where the 'spring' in my gear lever has gone! Basically my 1.7 gear lever feels like new i.e. wobble it from side to side and you feel some real resistance there. However, the 360 is very different with very little resistance to left and right movement. I had the system apart a few years ago to replace the clutch and there is nothing mechanically wrong with it but I couldn't find any springs that would account for the left-to-right springiness or lack thereof. Is it the spring on the gearbox selector plate which I remember seeing a long time ago but not sure??

Re: Another gear lever question.
the spring is behind the side cover of the gearbox
Re: Another gear lever question.
Many thanks. Is it possible to get a new one or tighten it up a bit?

Re: Another gear lever question.
they should be the same as the spring used in the 240's so my guess is that they are still available, personally i'd reccomend to take it apart and theck the springs movement, you can bend it a bit tighter for a better feel. parking in 3rd or 4th gear also helps with the lifespan as the spring is still in neutral state
