200k cylinder head details

Post by robinm » 05 Jan 2015 06:42 am

I have asked this question in my carb to injection thread, but I thought i would ask it here also, more people might see it.
The B200K carb head has a water heated inlet manifold, the water passing thru a port just below no4 cylinder and thru another port
just below cyl no1.
Now the B200E head also has these ports, the one below no1 is blocked with a frost plug and the port below no4 has one of the EFI sensors screwed into it.
What I need to know is " is the B200K head port under cyl no4 threaded ,so the EFI sensor will just screw in? i can soon get a frost plug to block the front hole.
if anyone has a B200K head sitting around, with the manifold off, could you please check if the rear water port has a thread in it?

If I remember right, there were no threads in both of the coolant holes. But its more than a year ago that I had one so I could be wrong.

Found this picture, not very clear but I can't see any threads in the coolant holes.

Its threaded and blocked with a bolt, you just need to block the manifold heater.

Thanks guys for the replies, there is a little confusion about different water ports. the second photo shows a B200E head without manifold, there are 4 water ports along the side of the head. The first one, working from the front of the head, is blanked off with a frostplug, the second one is the temp sender for the temp gauge, the third one is one of the sensors for the EFI, the forth one is the other sensor for the EFI.
The B200K head has all these ports also, the first one is one of the ports for the heated manifold, the second is again the temp gauge sender unit, the third is blanked off with a plug, the forth one is the second port for the heated mainfold.
the first photo shows the B200K head. The circle I have drawn on the photo shows where the 4th port is under the manifold.
What I am hoping is that 4th hole is actually threaded to allow the EFI sensor to screw in.
The first hole will have to be blanked off with a frost plug as in the B200E head.
IF they went to the trouble of threading and blanking the third hole on the carb head instead of just leaving it plain and using a frostplug then I am hoping that they did the same for the forth hole?

Ah sorry, my the B230FT doesn't use this hole, the head is not even drilled. I thought you meant one of the middle ones. B200K is not disassembled.

OK, now I have the head off the motor, for anyone else wondering, the carb head does not have the threads in the holes that the injected head has, meaning without expensive machining you can not bolt on a EFI inlet manifold to a carb head, you really need to use the EFI head complete.

Just tap the holes?!

Thats all i did to the injector holes on a Peugeot TU head that was converted to bike carbs. Then i just ran a die round some aluminium bar and slotted one end to screw it in and sealed it with some locktite
