Hello guys, could you help me I searched for all the topics related to swaps, and I couldnt find anything. I am doing my swap from volvo 340 1.7 to b18ft, and what fuel pump should I use, I am looking for something not expensive, because 440 fuel pump is in the tank, and is not fitting in 340. Please help, thank you.

Presumably this is an injection conversion from carb. I don't have a solution for a 340 but you will need an in-tank pump or a bottom outlet from the tank with a 12mm pipe to an external pressure pump. There is a thread about with someone who put a bolt-in union in the bottom of the tank, might have been a 360 tank, but the principle should work if you get it in a baffeled area.

I think fitting the fuel pipes are the easiest part, for me its is harder to know what fuel pump to put, I have seen someone had put subaru fuel pump, but from what engine he havent mentioned, and I have read that someone was using BMW 318/320 fuel pump, these ones think I would get very cheap, but I dont know will they be enough or too much for the engine. And its not neccesery to put in tank fuel pump, it would be a lot easier to put an external pump, but what kind of?

I thought that would be much easier. Its really about pressure and flow which is probably 140lph at 3 bar. The B200s can all use the 1 pump for 120 to 200 bhp easily, you can buy new for about £30.

If you are pulling out the top of the tank you need an in-tank lift pump for an external pump, injection pumps do not suck as well, also the original carb pipes will be too narrow for injection flow rates. A top fed pump might work a bit but will be unreliable with cavitations causing pressure loss occasionally.

Did I understood correctly, volvo 360 inejction fuel pump fits in the 340 fuel tank? Or it needs some more modifications?

No its an external pump, the injections use a bottom outlet tank, but you cant fit a 360 tank to a 340 without the engine/drive conversion. An external pump can go anywhere really but needs to be connected near the bottom of the tank unless you use an in-tank lift pump. But if you are going to make an in-tank lift pump fit you may as well fit an in-tank pressure pump. You need to fabricate more stuff to fit in-tank pump, this is why I suggest a bottom outlet and use a standard external pump.

All I am saying is standard injection theory, I don't know how people make the b18ft work.
