Injection wiring grommet
Injection wiring grommet
It seems my carb model has a small 30mm unused hole in the bulkheah. From memory this is where the injection loom goes, which needs about 55mm.
Anyone know what size it is and/or provide a photo of the location? I'm going to have to order a hole cutter.

Re: Injection wiring grommet
The original injection loom goes through the bulkhead a bit lower near the heaterbox. Oh crap.. you have the steering on the wrong side, so maybe they flipped everything around and it goes through the bulkhead somewhere else?

Re: Injection wiring grommet
I have just taken a loom out and it does go through under the heater box. On non efi cars a full grommet is in the hole

Re: Injection wiring grommet
That should be the one, so they did move the hole in the bulkhead.
Re: Injection wiring grommet
it overlaps >50% with the air box although there is a bit of clearance. Hopefully works, saves me cutting holes. Lets see if I can get LH2.4+EZK through it.
Airbox probably has to come out again, hmm.

LH2.4 harness goes through, you can even use the grommet on the harnessRide_on wrote:it overlaps >50% with the air box although there is a bit of clearance. Hopefully works, saves me cutting holes. Lets see if I can get LH2.4+EZK through it.

Re: Injection wiring grommet
I've got a full 940 loom going through there. So it does fit. I had to extend plugs so I lopped the big ones like afm off though.

Re: Injection wiring grommet
So I've used the GLT grommet and cut it in the middle. It fits over the connector.
Next problem is the LH2.4+EZK modules need a home and my interior is still pretty disassembled, any suggestions? Where does the GLT Jetronic unit go? I thought it was in the drivers kick panel, but its been a while since I removed the GLT parts, I might be thinking 940.. LH2.4 seems to big for 360 kick panel.

Re: Injection wiring grommet
Well in the 940 the ecu will be in the kick panel and the ezk behind the glove box, I would try find a place more accessible than behind the glove box. Perhaps above the pedals if there is space?
Re: Injection wiring grommet
The 360 ecu goes behind the main support for the Centre of the dash, behind the little tunnel cubby hoke

Re: Injection wiring grommet
^ yep, it does. Ali side facing the bulkhead with the connector on the bottom feeding the loom out to the passenger side
Re: Injection wiring grommet
Thats useful thanks. There does seem to be some space there. The EZK bolts on where the 360 jetronic goes and the LH2.4 goes behind the ashtray. Just need to find the rear floor heater splitter to check if there is enough space as the pipes come round the ezk.

Re: Injection wiring grommet
One more thing, where do the fuel pump wires go to get to the fuel pump? Do they go through the fuel sender grommet under the rear seat?

Re: Injection wiring grommet
On a std fuel injected car the + lead ( note: in the wiring diagram this is shown as red, but in my GLT it was black!!, I checked, double checked and triple checked and it was definitely the fuel pump + wire) comes out of the engine loom 1/2 across the top of the heater and joins the main loom of the car under the dash and runs back along the rh side of the car with all the other wires that go to the back of the car, not really doable in an EFI conversion.
What I did with my one is I bought 4 meters of reasonably heavy 2 core cable with a plastic outer covering and ran it back thru the chassis rail beside the fuel lines.
I also mounted another fusebox up on the inner guard behind the battery, instead of using the original GLT one that is hidden behind the battery.
