4 way vacuum valve

Post by spike4073 » 12 Aug 2015 02:20 pm

ok, ive replaced my 4 way vacuum valve and like an idiot i didnt pay attention and cant remember which way round the pipes from the cvt go,
anybody?

also ive just replaced both belts and one seems to be slacker than the other, could this cause a problem?... i noticed that when i go up a steep hill theres a squeel from transmission which i assume is the slacker belt slipping :/

ant help greatly appreciated :)

About the slack belt. Gap between rear pulley should be 1.5mm - 2.00mm either side. Max difference between sides 0.5mm. If out of spec, adjust. If still out of spec swap belts side-to-side and adjust. If still no joy, replace belts.

What did you replace both belts with? New or old?

Measure them. Check the width is the same at the widest and the length with a bit of string.

Are they genuine Volvo or aftermarket Roulunds?

Have they shrunk? I tried with someone to fit NOS Belts to a car and they were too short. (5 mm gap)

still not had chance to measure anything, however i noticed loud squeeling today as i was driving... pulled over and had a quick look... the right hand belt (slack one) appears to be set deeper into the pully than the left (tighter one)... any clue what could cause this?.... also noticed on left one anyway... that it appears its not volvo brand
