My radiator is bursting all the time...i've welded it several times but it is bursting again and again. I've redon head gasket but problem still exists.
Weldig guys sad that the pressure of the cooling system is ok and that radiator is old...some oder guys say that the head job is not done properly...Car doesn't overheat and starts normarly in the morning.
What can be the problem? There is not new radiators in the market, from which car can i put radiator that whil fit?

I don't know what the differences are, but I would guess they are minor, let's look:diesel wrote: There is not new radiators in the market,
Volvo parts
Petrol 1.7 B172 radiator (-Ch. 206298): Pt. No. 3560039-4 and 9031093-9 (Exchange Unit)
Petrol 1.7 B172 radiator (Ch. 206299-): 3560564-1 and 9031112-7 (EU)
Diesel 1.6 D16 radiator: 3211982-8 and 9031079-8 (EU)
Aftermarket:
NRF 507453, 507454 (OE No. 560039, 560564) - both Size (H x W x T): 550 x 342 (!Diagram says 368.5!) x 35

The NRF catalogue lists these two radiators as fitment for D16. Note difference (circled in green) and the OE numbers which are for B172 cars!
So I look up what radiator NRF suggests for 1.7 petrol....
NRF 506981 (OE No. 211982) - Size (H x W x T): 550 x 368.5 x 17??
NRF_506981_ by macplaxton, on Flickr
The NRF OE No ref suggests (3)211982 which is the Volvo Diesel number. Note also pipe on left is lower down. (RJ, would you care to comment? It seems B172 uses top hose 3211627 and D16 uses top hose 3244082)
I do not trust the NRF catalogue OE references. The mistake probably appears in other aftermarket catalogues. I would look at the radiator itself and note the details in the green circles to guess which is the right one.
Is there not a place local that rebuilds radiators? I would take your radiator there to be re-cored (zamena saća ??) if you cannot find a cheaper aftermarket unit.

Re: d16 radiator leakage
Thanks for your post....but i did not understan does the 1,7 radiator fit or not? It wouldn't be much diferent cause there are no 1,7 radiator also
The cost for rebulding the radiator Is 200 GBP that is to much there are lot's of new aftermarket radiators for about 50 GBP. I am thinking of going to the shop with mine and compare which one could fit.
But what if head gasket is not done properly afterall...hm

Re: d16 radiator leakage
1) Where is the temperature switch for the fan on your car? Is it above the bottom hose on the right side?
2) Where is the top hose on your car? At the very top of the side tank or 1/3 the way down?

I'll take a picture in the morning, now is to dark
Re: d16 radiator leakage
I can not upload pics...to big....but nevermind, I found one J.DEUS radiator for 77 GBP that is almost simillar. I need to drill some holes to fit but it is not much problem
Re: d16 radiator leakage
Bad news.
The new radiator works fine but the pressure is to high.
The head has to go off again. We will inspect the block too, i am taking the car to much serious mechanic this time!
