Engine weight

Post by benji1985 » 17 Jan 2016 11:14 am

Hello everyone,
As part of my restore that will be happening soon :D :D I will be removing the engine, I am looking at buying a stand to support the engine.
So does somebody know how much the B14 engine weighs, but I have a S80 D5 too, so I was thinking of getting a stand that could hold that engine too should it ever be needed, so if that weight is known too that would be helpful.

Thank you

Ben

not much, i lifted mine out of the bay with the help of a friend, was far quicker than dragging the crane out

although in the interest of health and safety dont lift your engine with out a crane, only an idiot would

Iirc the b200 weighs 150kg so I would imagine it would be around the 100kg mark maybe less.

If I remember well: it's including alternator, carburettor, aircleaner, waterpump, drivebelt, flywheel but without the bellhousing.

Honestly, you'll never need the stand for the D5 lump... unless it's already done 500k!

That sounds about right as I can still carry them on my own and I've gone weak in recent years
