Good night chaps, i have a small question, what i also happen to have is a 1985 360 GLS.
My timing belt is quite old and i need to replace it but since it been several years since the last time i did it, i just can't find the belt nor the water pump, like they disappeared from 2006 to 2017.
although other volvo belts are fairly easy to find, so my question is:
How compatible are Volvos within models/engines?
And how the hell do i know what engine is my car?
Ps: I live in a country where 360 are hard to find.
Compatibility
Re: Compatibility
The timing belt should be available, even from Volvo, have you tried google or ebay? Its a standard red block belt with square tooth drive gear. The later 940s use round tooth.
Also unless the water pump is in bad condition you are better to keep the factory original. 360 pump is a bit unique and there are 2 types, B19 and B200. your 85 360 should be a B200K assuming it carb'd.
Same for the idler pulley, factory original is best.
