The B204(GT?) is a 2L 16v turbo for the volvo 300's, ~200HP stock, but availible exclusively to italy, i think its safe to say if they were more abundant we would all have one of those engines in our bays (or at least those who havent but B230FT or B280E's in)

i'm not sure that engine was ever stock in a 300 - i think its from a 240/700 turbo..

It was never stock in the 300-series. The 16V head does not fit under the bonnet. That engine was made for the italian market because you pay much more taxes in Italy when you come above 2 liter displacement. This engine was in the 780, 960 and T-5's.

There is also 8v 2 litre turbos in 740. B200ET. Then there's also B200FT which was used in 940 in some countries. And there was no 300-series turbos coming out from factory. All turbo models are either built by dealer or by someone else. :P

There are loads of 2ltr turbo 700 + 900's in the uk.
You can pick them up for penny's.
Could be a nice swap into a 360 with out putting loads of stress on the drive train.

theres no 2 litre turbo 700s. they're all 2.3s.. should still go in without too much trouble - the 940 turbo enigne isnt up to much umph - its just a lpt to give a little more grunt. t6 is where its at :D

How pokey would a non turbo 2.3i with a 16v head be? Maybe a good improvement but without turbo issues and lots of low end power.

They're in 740GLTs and GLE's, 155bhp as standard - I think, something similar to that anyway. Would be nice in a 360 anyway :) Not entirely sure what would be needed, I'd imagine custom engine mount and downpipe.. without the turbo clearance may be less of an issue?

They have indeed produced 2.0 liter engines..I always thought they were from the 240...

2.0 liter, mechanical injection, no intercooler. 155bhp stock. Have one lying in the shed waiting to be installed..Turbo-enginemount clearence looks to be a problem..don't know whether a custom engine mount will suffice..does anyone have pictures of one?
I was planning on building my own manifold to fit a cossie turbo..

2 litre turbo's do excist! May be not in the UK? In Holland we have B200ET's and B200FT's. They were in 700's and may be in 900's.

I found a 940 with turbo on a scrapyard nearby. It was a LPT, pretty small one. But the little extra power will be nice already.

The underblocks are all the same. So the holes for the engine mounts of the stock B200E are also on the turboblocks.

2 litre turbos do exist in the UK, think they were only B200ET's, I think 5Lab meant that 2 litre turbos were unavailable in the 700 series. The 2 litre turbo in the UK is only available in 900s.

I've just read some stuff on a dutch website about putting a B230FT in a 360. I remember that is asked that guy a question about the engine mounts. He answered that with a B200 of B230 engine you don't have the problem with the engine mounts when fitting a turbo. Only with i.e. a B23ET engine. But that's the one with mechanical injection, the one you probably don't want to have.
