Blah...just asked for price at volvo 178 euros a piece. Not intrested...so...options? If I just put metal between the old mounts and it might then be stiffer again?

Problem is that the downpipe hits the chassis when cranking...and sometimes it rattles at low rpm too...

Help me out mates...

If you give me a drawing with dims on I may have something close enough to do the job.

Yep, i knew about that price! Over here they are 117 euros a piece. My car had the same problem. Also the crankcase hitting the power steering housing.

I took a 6 mm thick steal strip and made a piece to fit under the mount. Did that on both sites and now the problem is gone.

They're expensive because they're special hydraulic jobbies, not just simple rubber mounts. They made a big difference to the running of mine, much smoother. The new mounts made the engine sit about 2 inches higher in the engine bay :)

Andy do you think poly mounts would be a good idea?

I dunno Dai, when we next meet up I'll bring along a 360 mount for you to have a look at. They're pretty specialised though.

I think some B200 or B19 have used rubber mounts, maybe in 200-serie. My engine mounts are very loose too, 2 years ago I got offer 100 euros each, had no money then.

It is not that special mount so I'm very suprised if some other model mount would not fit, I also prefer rubber mounts as they don't flex same way when stepping to gas, on track specially I like to engine and drivetrain to be as stiff as possible, now it feels like engine is rotating 90 degrees when I floor throttle after engine braking, feels bad on my neck...

340 and 360 mounts are totaly different.
I already make poly ones for the 340 1.4 and 1.7

The engine+driveshaft hang in those mounts. The B19/200's in the 200 series were standing on the mounts. That's why they wore out faster in a 360. I you shake them, you hear there's fluid inside. I think they are that expensive for a particular reason.

Mine seems to be in good condition.. I tried to shake the engine but when I tried to roll it only thing it did was that the whole car shaked. :P So no movement there..

Any update on the polys or replaceable cheaper units from another car/model?

I was going to put some metal under the mount and noticed that someone had done that already years ago.

I really should put new mounts but I wouldn't like to pay that much...help :'(

To speed this one up could someone take a couple of pics of a mount and some dims - I'd compleatly forgotten about it.

haha I was going to give you a spare one but I keep forgetting to bring one to the meet. The hydraulic in it is worn out (hence the reason for replacement), but at least it should give you an idea anyway :)
