Im looking for a pic of the end of the engine, or clutch housing showing the bolt pattern on a volvo 360 with torque tube.
Also, any chance someone could count the splines and measure the hole in a standard volvo pressure plate for the clutch on these?
Thanks, Al.

I'm not quite sure why you'd want to swap a B200 for a B20, but hey ho
Apart from the fact that the OHC redblocks are always installed on the slant, I think the bolt pattern might actually be the same / similar, as the blocks are (fundamentally) very similar.
cheers

I want to swap a b22 for a t5, but I need to see the bolt patterns. As no one could provide a pic of the bolt pattern on a b200 I wanted to know if it was the same as the b20, as I have two of them in the garage for my boat!
Im basically after pics of the bellhousing in the 360 to see where the bolts are!

You want to fit a T5 motor to a 360? Easy, order the bellhousing adaptor from...er....that place in Sweden that I can't remember the same of!

The bellhousing bolt plattern is the same in ALL theese volvo redblock engines:
B18
B20
B17
B19
B21
B23
B200
B204
B230
B234
Found in RWD volvo cars from 1962-1998.
And yes, there should be an adapter plate ready, to fit a volvo ALLOY engine to a redblock bellhousing.
Here's a pic from a B230 block:

And another without the marine engine's damper (replaces the clutch)

Excellent, cheers for that. Does anyone have any if the end of a t5 engine perchance?
Also, any chance someone knows how many splines on a std 360 clutch?

Take a poke around on the forum at
www.turbobricks.com, as there are a number of cars in the 'projects' forum which feature whiteblocks on the stand.
This is the place which makes the bellhousing pattern adaptors.

The B20 (amzon 140) is the same as the B21 B23 etc. It is common to put the ohc engines into 140's etc. The difference is the angle the engine sits at.

as above , the bellhousing pattern is the same for all the inline redblock engines upto 1998 (OHV + OHC) apart from a 15 degree incline .
ill question the wisdom tho when a B230 can be made to go just as well as a T5 as std (in fact better with what youve got)
as foggy said KLracing is the spot for adapter plates .
the 5 cyl is just as long as a 4 cyl redblock , so youll have to watch where the front of the engine sits at , the 360 redblock has a shorter water pump . youll have to watch the clutch/flywheel setup - theres no volvo engineered clutch plate/cover that fits m46/m47 transmission input shaft
also the inlet for the turbo is right towards the back of the engine , so it will probably be very tight in a 360 , with steering column etc , not insurmountable tho .

Originally I just wanted to make a 360 as quick as poss with a std engine. The t5 sprung to mind, and although Ive since realised its probebly not the ideal route, I still fancy it! Its also alloy blocked IIRC. The length is an issue, as is the clutch compatibility.
Does anyoe know what the clutch diameter on the t5 fwd transmission, and the redblock 360 transmission?
How much clearance down the front of a 360 redblock engine to the rad?
