I knew the 360 had issues with the driveshaft coupling so today out came the gearbox
I definitely wasnt prepared for what I saw, It was planning a spectacular failure I think, LH diff bearing has 5 mm up and down movement
Input shaft bearing had collapsed and the gearbox was using the prop as some sort of support the splines and coupling were days away from failure
And in the past somebody has stripped the filler plug that was glued in with silicone which wasnt doing a good job of holding it there
Glad i have an entire transaxle to replace it seemed like overkill when i bought the thing but will save me now
I,m amazed the transaxle was so quiet thats the only reason i'd delayed the coupling replacement
Tomorrow will be the test for the new gearbox as i'm away to queensland a 2000+ km trip each way

Good luck with the trip, I blew the diff in mine but that was due to drivign silly on dirt roads, lots of wheelspin, mind you the car had heaps of lash from day one that is gone on the new gearbox, so it was already on the way out when i got it.

I had to buy the enitre transaxle too, seemed silly when i just needed the diff, but noone would seperate.
