360 engine conversion

Post by 360glt » 29 Sep 2008 10:45 pm

hello there fellow vovlo gurus

i am new to this site, let me introduce myself, im Symon, i drive a '87 360, and although i have already gone through one diff by doing a dodgy weld job on it, i have the urge for more power,

me and some friends from another site were talking and they suggested the 2.3 turbo lump from the 740 should drop straight in, and i am wondering what else i need to make this possible, obviously i need the engine and wiring loom, but i have just broused through some pages and people were talking about modifying the oil pump, sump and water pump, just need to clarify what needs to be done, so if one of you guys or gals would like to help me in my quest for more power, (that have done this conversion) could you please write up a basic step by step guide for me please

What is involved willdepend on which exact engine (age) you end up dropping in. You need to use the 360 oil pump etc.

Best bet is to search on posts by Fuse as he has posted quite a bit on the subject
