mass air flow for 360glt

Hy to everyone. Nice site here. I have been looking over your site for some time. Now I have decided to write.
I have a 1987 360 GLT. Have a big problem. The mass air flow is dammaged. Here in Ro it costs a great deal of maney. Found one in Germany for 70 eur but I haven't been able to get it up to now. I have tried some other models here like from BMW, SAAB, Opel, etc. My ecu doesn't like any of them. My car runs now with one from a Passat 1.8 L but it become instabil this one too. Not to mention the huge consumption rate. The problem is at a low rpt - the engine cannot run at 1000-1500 rpm. I have to keep it at over 1500 or at idle - 1000. It is a Bosh 0280202096.
Can anyone give me an ideea?

I suggest you check one from a volvo 200-series with B200E engine. They are the same type, isnt't it

240 with B200E has a K-Jet so no help from there.

No use for one from 200 series. it is different...
I want to ask u guys to clesr smth up for me.
B200e and B200f engines. As I know the difference is the following: one has EGR and Pulsair and the other has Lambda sonde. Is this so? Theese engines are not too common here and that is why I cannot see more engines to make the difference.

My small knownledge about this subject is here:
In 300-serie B200e and B200F are ECU controlled injections (Lu-Jetronic and Le-Jetronic???), in 200-series B200e can be mechanical injection known as K-Jet
So perhaps any car that has same ecu (LU-Jet or LE-Jet) also could have compatible or near compatible parts for you?

Ok but how can I tell if all my exaust system has been changed? I do not have catalytic converter. I think if it had one then it also should have lambda sonde ? I do not have one. I only have egr

check the part number and look in pre 89-90 non-turbo 700's and 200's, 940's will be LH2.4 so likely no use to you,

I've got a spare MAF from when i bought my 360, its not perfect as in it gives a rather bland powerband, but it drives fine and its about the same on fuel. I dont need it any more, if you need it i can hook it up to my car and make sure it still works and then mail it over to you if u want. I'm only gonna get rid of it so if u want it lemme know

I hooked it up and its not too crash hot TBH. Theres no powerband at all, i'm guessing its running really rich from the dud sensor, as on cold mornings its fine for maybe 2 minutes max before the bad powerband kicks in, though it starts fine and idles fine. I'd rather not send it over as you'd probably not be happy with it. That and some light surface rust on the inside... I dont know how to fix the sensor so i'm sorry i couldnt be of more help

Well, it sounds just like mine... The same story - idles ok but runs very reach on gasoline.

I've also been having a similar problem to white-wolf.
At low engine revs I can lose power, usually only for a second or two, but it has died for 10 seconds or so. If I have my foot down there is no problem, it happens at gentle cruising or going down hill.
I'm thinking the low airflow is not enough to keep the meter registering, so maybe the ECU receives a flase low airflow reading, reduces the fuel to match, the mixture is too lean and there is no combustion.
Looking at the airflow meter, i can see it has been opened up before.
Is it like a self-closing door that blows in the wind? I'm thinking mine is sticking or not swinging freely.
Does this idea make any sense?
Can it be opened up and cleaned/lubricated to make it swing open more freely?
Or get a new one?
Why is it called MAF?
