Maybe it's my english, but I don't understand what part you
mean. Is it the engine fan, or some part of the gearbox? Maybe the shaft from engine to the
gearbox?

i mean it what goes from the clutch
shaft to the gearbox.
i have several ones with damaged splines in one end.
to assembly the splines i need to use a big press or liquid nitrogen...
the big press will not help, because it will destroy the whole aluminium shaft and the rubber
parts of it...

These shafts are made out of alluminium and what we did here
in Cyprus is to cut the damaged end of the one shaft and weld a good one. We used to cut
the end piece (~200mm) which was damaged on the shaft and weld a piece from another
shaft. Then we machined the weld and balance the axle. This was done on the shaft of the
1.4 litre and we did not tried it on the 1.7 litre Volvos
