Noise from the rear-left.. Mystery solved!

Post by Moro » 25 Feb 2005 08:32 am

You guys may remeber a problem I had a few months ago with a rubbing, grinding noise from the rear-left of my 360GLT when cornering right, especially with passengers or any other load in the back.

My assumption at the time was a worn or loose wheel bearing.. Well, it actually turned out to be the rear springs rubbing against, and hitting the muffler.. my mechanic's advice was to do nothing if it wasn't bothering me too much, or to have the rear springs re-tempered (stiffened) so that the car doesn't dip as much.
