Volvo 340 Williams F7R (172BHP)

Post by WooDooUK » 14 Apr 2010 08:03 pm

Unfortunately the time has come for me and the 340 Williams to part ways.

Full Build Thread is here: http://www.volvo300mania.com/forum-uk/v ... =13&t=6323
1989 (G)
160,000 miles
TAX: December
MOT: December
Car is in South Wales

Spec:
Suspension and Running Gear:

ClassicSwedes 3” 300lb front springs and front Shocks filled with EP80W gearbox oil (Works a treat!)
Landrover Defender 90 Shocks on the rear with 2” Lowering Blocks.
Standard Diff.
Black ATS Classic 13”x6” Wheels. Another set will be included if I get the full asking price.
Recently Fitted Mintex 1144 Front Brake Pads and new Discs.

Interior:
2 Mint Cobra Bucket Seats with 3 point harness mounted to the rear seatbelt mounts.
the rest of the interior has been left in the car. Nice and quiet!
Extra Gauge pod in the centre with Oil Pressure, Oil Temp and Rev Counter. And a large Oil pressure warning light.
New door and boot seals just fitted
Volvo rev counter fitted.
Fire extinguisher behind the passenger seat
Programable Wiper speed courtesy of a VW Golf Wiper Relay
Original Volvo radio fitted.
OMP style 3 spoke steering wheel on a Pug 205 Boss.

Exterior/Bodywork:
Standard apart from a satin black bonnet (painted with a proper paint gun) and the volvo300mania stickers.
There is some small rust bubbles on the door shut of the driver’s side.
It will likely need the rear drivers side jacking point welding after it was damaged when the car came of the Jack 
The paint on the front wings is a little flat.
The front valance is very crusty with holes but all the panels round it are sound.

And Now for the best bit!!
Engine:

Clio Williams F7R (700) 2.0 16v Engine
Primatech Racing ECU Chip with 8000 rev limit, and modified fuel and ignition.
Kent Cams RN2002 Fast Road Cams 2000-6500rpm powerband
Magnecour HT Leads
Pipercross filter on the intake manifold
Remote Oil Filter Housing on the passenger side chassis leg.
All done on one of 340GLTs excellent 16v Engine Wiring looms.
Slimline electric fan fitted

I have changed the oil and filter every 5000 miles
Engine mileage is unknown but I checked the big end bearings and cams before I put the engine in and there were in excellent condition.

Exhaust:
Custom built system with a stainless downpipe from Pro-Speed Exhausts
Then mild steel with two 45 degree bends (instead of the two 90) to a Suzuki Hyabusa silencer.
quiet and flows very nicely.

And all this makes 172.3 BHP @ 7135rpm

Aye what happened to the value of valvos? Maybe it's just the recession, once people start getting pay rises again they might resume splashing the cash on fun cars. I might buy a holset when I eventually get my consolidated lump sum.

Fortunatley there was a reserve.

I dont think there is much point in re-listing it. To much of a specialist car.
Keep having plenty of intresest on driftworks tho so hopefully i will get a sale soon.
