rolling shell, scrapping in about a week.

Post by Dan » 18 Sep 2012 07:05 am

My 1.4 decided to set fire today. After a cry and thinking about it im probably going to cancel the insurance and weigh it in, however the only damage was in the engine bay. Anything not steel looks to be destroyed, it looks like the carb has even melted. So anything else you need, inbox me or ring me, preferably the latter and let me know. Oh it also has leather seats, but foggy gets first dibs on them.

The only special bits I can think of are the welded diff. And possibly a spare open from a 2l. The wheels. The doors and boot lid, and the bonet with a respray and some TLC.

It breaks my heart to say this but I can't go through rebuilding her, she was great. Fun, fairly eco and just kept plodding even tho I did millions of miles in her.

I don't think a 3 series is practical until I can afford a garaged one that was forgotten and is mint. Im disgusted with myself but im thinking of something new. Possibly a C30 or the new gt86. As my only mode of transport expired last night im afraid it's gonna be cash on collection.

My number is 07794904138.

Im open to offers and haggling but I need to insure myself on another car so I'd like to think that'd make you keener to make a good offer.

Thanks guys, hope I can help y'all out.

If you want the whole shebang I'll take ust over scrap weight, less a rough price for the seats, depending if foggy wants them.

Aww dude, my condolences :( I've come close to setting fire a few cars which is why I keep a fire extinguisher in the boot at all times now (except the rover, I wish that thing would burn).

What year is it and do you have any pictures? Also - where are you based?

If you end up with no taker for the shell can you chop the front end off for me, i'll come and pick it up?

Thats if the valence is rust free and not too badly fire damaged, let me know, cheers.

Was looking for a parts breaker - but I've just thought about the logistics of A-framing a half burnt car. Probably not going to happen before Thursday. Magnum - she's all yours.

I've managed to salvage the prop, welder, front passenger door which was mint and the seats. I'd really like to keep the seats for any future happenings with a 3 series but feel free to make an offer on anything else

Was a bit hopeful there I think. Halfshaft coupling bolts were chewed to fuck, so no prop or diff, and I just cba with it I need it gone. Sorry all, I didn't have much choice tho :-/
