Just to let you know someone else bought the local car (probably for too much money as they had it advertised for £800 and I only offered iro £400) so I'm still watching this one.

You would have thought so... but when I went to see it we couldn't get it started and there was a big pool of water in the rear footwell, plus a few touched-in scrapes on the body. Only 22k, but not entirely mint and certainly not worth that much. I thought my offer was pretty generous! But then Plymouth seems to be an expensive place to buy cars... not much choice and most of what there is is buggered.

I hereby relinquish dibs on the 340. LankyTim may now assume the role of dibsholder. I don't expect to have any time to get over to Cambridge, so it would be silly to commit myself. Hopefully looking at a 66 near home at the weekend (assuming it's still around).

Depending on what you call local there is a 66 on autotrader in kidderminster!!!

That's the lad! Been advertised for months - thought I might go and have a gander. I don't really want a restoration project but if it can be roadworthy for a couple of hundred it'd be just the thing.
