Welcome! A B200K powered saloon is probably the best model there is to own, all-round...as long as you don't need to transport large items :)

cheers

Foggy is right... in my experience the saloon is MUCH quieter than any other hatch I've been in :P Coupled to B200K economy.. yes please!

Not true... this one has a sunroof! And sealed sunroof at that, and still windnoise there. Not as quite as Kar's glass roof (specially with the re-circ button pressed), or non roofed

Sealed sunroof = broken sunroof = windnoise ;)

My hatch vs saloon both with properly adjusted Golde roofs: Saloon > Hatch for quietness :P

IMO the bulk of the windnoise in a 300 is NOT from the sunroof atall.

Yes, but I'm not going with that for this arguement ;) They do have advantages... and I'm waiting for a pimp slammed black one with skirts to arrive, else I'm going to have to do it. The main reason I dislike them is they look an afterthought, and theres no way I can transport anything in them, either day to day, or the killer, kite stuff and boards. For me, there are few advantages (the only one I can think of involves the slamming mentioned earlier) and lots of disadvantages.

As too noise.. the discusion is still continuing ;)

Despite having knackered door pins, Nessy is MUCH quieter than the 360 at speed, and as far as I can make out, the only difference is the sunroof.

cheers

IMO the sunroof makes a major difference, but if the guttering up the front of the car is ill fitting or damaged, that will make a lot of noise, as will bad seals on the doors. I must say Steve is right, there is more to it than just the sunroof. I've had a noisy badly adjusted broken sunroof, and yes, that's noisy, but there other things adding to it, such as how well the vents close off and if they whistle!

Glass sunroof, new door seals, make sure the window seals are good, add re-circ, and you too could have a quiet 300 ;)

Seriously, I have done the door seals, and it did make a difference, and as I've said before, since my snowcap, the re-circ is needed sometimes. There are a few more plans I have to make Kar even quieter, but they'll have to wait until it can make noise
