I think they're all driving through Nottingham on their way to eBayLand. I saw another one last night. This is getting silly.

That 360 GLE with the leather interior looks alright 8) Not enough mk.2s amongst those cars for my liking

Crazy isn't it.

I'd be tempted to bid on the leather equipped GLE if it had a years MoT, as if I'm going down the carbs route it'd probably be easier to convert a carb'd car. Plus if it went for cheap money it'd probably work out cheaper than getting Fioner through her MoT :(

Don't believe the hype...nothing wrong with the Solexs that a set of micro drills won't fix. Remember this is the same industry which thinks a stock Ford Zetec is a performance engine :)

I wasn't actually talking about the carbs anyway - I meant the tank, pipes and pump.

cheers

Nah it's OK, I'll keep those for now :) You having fueling issues then?

It seems far easier to get Webers or Dellortos to the spec I want, as it's far easier to get bits for them. Especially as 40s are really a wee bit small, so gotta max eveything out on them. Unfortunately 45s make the cost far too much!

I am, but that's not why I'm changing. This is a longer-term plan.

Yes, parts are available, but consider the expense. If you happen to have a rolling road operator nearby with jet sets for Dellortos or Webers well and good, but if not it gets VERY expensive very quickly. Even so, add up 2-3 hours of dyno time (at best), and it's not cheap.

I've spent £200 on a wideband (a fancy one...you can get them for just over £100), and £3 on a set of micro-drills....that should get me sorted out. You can only drill emulsion tubes (the tuning stage I'm now at) on the Solexs, as all the others use double skinned tubes (AFAIK).

cheers

Yeah I've got a dude about 5 miles up the road who is apprently very good. This guy in fact:
http://www.aireytuning.com/default.asp

However his website states that he keeps extensive parts for Solexs as well as Weber, Dellorto, Stromburg and SUs so maybe I should talk to him first!!

Will Solexs fit on the same manifold as Webers/Dellortos?

Very interesting link, thanks Carl.

Yes, ADDHEs share the DCOE bolt pattern.

Just noticed that 360 a certain Mr Swede is bidding on. That's where I used to live! I'm only about 25 miles from there now. Where do all these 3 dr 360s keep coming from?! I want one!
