Help please! Low-priced car needed

Hi. My sister-in-law has asked me to see if I can find a cheap car for a friend. The friend has M.E. & is now pregnant with her 3rd child, and their car has recently fallen to pieces. As I've got a reputation for finding bargains, it's my job.

I'm wondering if anyone has, or knows of, a reasonable car for small money - having just bought a 300-series I'm very impressed with them & think they'd make a good car for a family with 3 small kids. I imagine that a 5-door would be best, as I certainly wouldn't look forward to getting 3 child seats in the back of a 3-door...

Anyway, any advice would be appreciated.

only downside is a 300 doesnt have 3 propper seatbelts in the back. not sure if late 400 series had them?

What kinda budget are you looking for? On private ad sites 300's aren't that cheap - ebay for the win.

Hi Steve. I haven't talked to them directly yet, but their budget would be in the region 0-£200 max, I'd imagine. I know they're not well-off.

Will certainly be looking on ebay (which is where I got my car - surprised I haven't seen anything on here about it), but always worth asking!

There are a couple of very cheap cars listed in this section at the moment!

400s never got 5x 3-point lap belts...940s were the first cars sold in this country to have them IIRC. They came in on the 'smaller' models with the S/V40.
