Is anyone rebuilding a 1.4 engine?

Post by classicswede » 24 Sep 2006 03:22 pm

I've got some new bits and pices tucked away for the 1.4 mainly big end bearings and mains shells of varying sizes. I might also have some other bits going cheap if anyone is interested.

To add to this, I have various piston sets (quite a few!) for what are believed to be Volvo-branded Renault engines, so if anyone were planning a 1400 rebuild, there are some more parts to add to the mix.

I've got a big box of stuff which belongs to Dave Slater which I've been charged with the task of selling. It's mainly pistons, but there are liners too....and a few odds and ends. I've a feeling there are bearing sets too, but I'd obviously not advertise those until Dai has sold his.

I can go and have a nosey through the box if you like? There are 6-8 sets IIRC, all different. I don't think the boxful owes him a lot. I'll look at what's there and report back.

hi james and dai,

this sounds fab

Dai re the 66 engine... wow... that would be fab! one of the 66s currently has a seized engine ( live in an orchard for 7 years and sold as parts ). the body isnt too bad but just in case the engine is worse for wear / ware?? this could be a cool offer

cheers guys!!

hi!

daf 66? didnt see it... unfortunately running out of room at the moment...

As we've got 66s, i think if there was more space Id get a 480.. its kind cool... althought the electrics are.. well got a mind of their own

I think my recent adventure with the 340 ( will post at some point ) was training for owning a 480

basically, mad wiper and indicator electrics

all the best guys
