Got too many sets of wheels doing nothing in the garage and these are the ones I thought would sell the easiest :?

Thanks

he's talking $AUS tho ;)

It's a simple matter of supply and demand. You can get wheels like that for ~£300-350 a set new, so no-one is going to pay that for a scruffy set with mismatched tyres. At least, not on here where people have a fair idea and common sense...

What's the ebay market like for them? I've seen lots of stuff that some people think is valuable go for far more than it's worth there, including a lot of computery stuff that goes for more than it's current new retail price...

After a few insults there was some helpful advice in there I guess. Well ebay was my 2nd choice but was just giving you guys a chance to buy before I did all that.

It may be in Aus dollars but 100 a rim is a much more reasonable offer!! :P

I would really like to know where you can get a set of 17"s for less than £400 new!!

3 of the tyres are similar only one is completely different and they are brand new!

Think that white car of yours needs some alloys or something to make it look more desirable

Cheers

It's the white car he got some OEM wheels for for £20, and they look sweet ;)

I didn't mean any insults mate, you've helped me out before with bits and that means something. I may have been able to phrase things a nadgers better ;) Have a nose about, you can get 17 TSW's with tyres (granted they are "ditch finders") for 350 plus if you have a nose about, not heard of the sellers though, so at least you are trustworthy

I reckon ebay is worth a go, they seem to be finishing around 150-200 with bare tyres atm. Good luck dude.

Yeh I do my home work before I sell something so to say that due to common sense no one will buy it for that price was a bit uncalled for.

Cheers Chris I know your just trying to help and plus your always out there for a bargain (as are most) !! Its just these aren't any old wheels.

Anyway obviously I was wrong to put them on here to sell.

Hopefully they sell.

well we've established from previous threads that most people here don't agree with 17's on 300's, so it was never going to be an ideal place to try and sell them!

As Chris says, I have a set of OEM alloys (currently waiting for tyres...) for the car in my avatar. In fact the Dolomite Sprint was the first production car to have alloys fitted as standard (as well as being the first production 16v car).

Hence why I started of by saying that even though I know people aint fond of them (please read).

Anyway whats with all the digs, i'm just trying to sell the wheels you have no intention of buying them so why do you insist on contributing to the thread with negative comments?

In my opinion, £300 is a fair price for a set of quality 17" rims in good condition with tyres. Whether or not these match that description is up to a potential buyer. Whether or not aftermarket rims deserve their price premium (over OEM rims) is indeed debatable, but do they have a price premium? Hell yes. Sure you can get BK Racing crap for less, but TSW > BK Racing.

Jay's asked me to lock this, which I will. In the future, if you're just being tight with no real intention of being helpful, keep it to yourself. If you're trying to be helpful (and I know pricing advice is sometimes required), consider how you word your posts so you don't run the risk of sounding like a cock.

Good luck with the sale mate.

cheers
